Shawls

  I have wanted to try this shawl designed by Melanie Berg for a while.  Now I finally decided to give it a try with my own twist. Yarn: Woolike Simili-Laine. Light color (LC) and dark color (DC) Needle size: US 4 - 3.5 mm Yardage: about 700 yards (640 m) in light color yarn, 200 yards (320 m) in dark color yarn. Final size: 54'' (137cm) wingspan along top edge and 24'' (60cm) long at center before blocking Construction Concept: 1. The entire shawl is knitted with garter stitches. 2. This shawl increases 1 stitch at every RS, which means 1 stitch increases in every ridge. 3. I increase the stitch with YO after the first knit stitch at each RS row. 4. At WS rows, because I didn’t want to have the eyelet effect from the YO, I knitted through the back loop to avoid that. 5.
